Author Pens Darwin Strikes Back: Defending the Science in Intelligent Design
A Discovery Institute program named the Center for Science and Culture (CSC) “encourages schools to improve science education by teaching students more fully about the theory of evolution, as well as supporting the work of scholars who challenge various aspects of neo-Darwinian theory and scholars who are working on the scientific theory known as intelligent design.” The November 30, 2006 issue of CSC’s email newsletter (Nota Bene) focused on “Following the evidence where it leads.” .jpg)
One article in that issue focused on Casey Luskin interviewing Dr. Thomas Woodward about his new book Darwin Strikes Back: Defending the Science of Intelligent Design. Woodward’s first book, Doubts About Darwin, documented the intelligent design movement among scientists. His new book, a sequel, answers questions about the key players in the intelligent design debate and their contributions, development of the debate and its future, and conclusions we can draw about “our origins based on scientific evidence.” The book also “analyzes the rhetoric used by Darwinists in their critiques of intelligent design.”
Besides being a professor at Trinity College in Florida, Dr. Woodward lectures on scientific, apologetic and religious topics at universities. One website stated that any confidence that readers had previously placed in the objectivity of Darwinists will be shaken after reading Woodward’s book. Out of the six book reviews on the website of major online bookseller, one gave 4 out of 5 stars and the other five gave 5 out of 5 stars.
